Imagine a place that combines food, shopping and education - where the focus is on re-use and sustainability? Well, La Recyclaire is all of that - topped with a Parisian flair.

Located inside a former railway station on the Petite Ceinture, there you will find a restaurant (the menu is always changing and can range from African to Lebanese food), a bar, a small flea market, workshops and, yes, even a small farm. The unifying purpose here is to provide its visitors with a relaxing place to eat, spend their afternoons and live out the values of true sustainability, do-it-yourself and re-use.

The place is decorated with vintage furniture and lots of green - I'm taking about a in-house vegetable garden and a terrace covered in vines. On Thursdays, local producers come together for a farmer's market. Will you be in Paris for a short time? Worry not, the natural wine is served everyday and workshops, on anything from ceramics to gardening, are offered many times a day. You can enjoy all this while overlooking some old train tracks, a nostalgic scenery that only Paris could provide. I'm dying to see it in person!
