The Met Gala, which marks the opening of the Fashion Institute's yearly exhibition, is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most anticipated red carpet of the season. Simply because it is the event that brings attention to everything about the fashion business, from its models and designers to its fashion editors, stylists and makeup artists.

Each year, the theme  is related to that of the exhibition. Last year, Met Gala revolved around the punk universe, so we saw many tartans, pins and spikes on the red carpet. This year, the exhibition is devoted to the master of couture, the American designer Charles James, which meant that many fashionistas surrendered to full-skirted dresses and elbow-length gloves, as well as super feminine hairstyles. Everything was super glamorous.

The big party was held yesterday in New York and, as expected, I spent the night drooling at some looks - and grieving for others. Here I leave you my selection of the night's best dressed.
