Just as citizens responded to Brexit through protests, the art world responded through the medium it knows best. Through their social media, some of art's important figures and institutions made their statement.

Curator Klaus Biesenbach commented with the shocked facial expressions of Gilbert e George on their 2010 work "Nettle Dance", dresses in their characteristic Union Jack suits. Laura Bartlett Gallery posted an impacting photo of the EU flag with a fallen star. Hattie Stewart posted a pretty straight forward picture of a heart hugging the EU
flag, alongside passionate words. At the end, she wittingly wrote: "I do not know to adequately express my disappointment. Love to all and for now #adiEU #iloveEU". I'm with you, Hattie.
