Who can forget Ai Wei Wei's exhibition at the Tate Modern in 2010-2011? His installation in which he covered the museum's entire floor with ceramic sunflower seeds was just breathtaking! Soon after, the dissident artist had his passport taken away by the Chinese government, which prevented him from leaving his home nation until recently.
But, thankfully, we can now come in contact with some more of Ai Wei Wei's work on London grounds again. Earlier this month, the Royal Academy has opened its door for a survey of his ouevre. Not only will we see a series of his past works, but also his new creations. I haven't visited the exhibition yet due to the fashion month craze, but will do so as soon as I have some time! It will be opened until December 13th.
