Fragile and ephemeral. These adjectives describe the Venice exhibition celebrating the work of photographer Irving Penn, who died in 2009. ‘Resonance’, on display at the Palazzo Grassi, brings together 150 images which show the transience of everyday life.

Portraits from a variety of fashion magazines, portraits of celebrities from the film, art, fashion and literary worlds, as well as the series ''Small Trades“ - the most varied period of the artist’s work - can be found there.

For those who, like myself, are a fan of the photographer, this exhibition is a must-see – especially considering it is in Venice, the delightful city of canals.
